John is the founder and project manager for JNL Designs & Construction.  He began his construction career at 15 yrs old in Riverton, WY when he was hired by a drywall company to clean up.  He worked his way up to a drywall finisher until his family moved to Casper.  Once established in Casper, he got a job with a home builder as a laborer/carpenter.  There he learned framing, roofing, siding, and trim skills while building spec and custom homes.  After a time of building homes, he decided to return to school and pursue an A.A.S. through Casper College. While in college, John worked for friends and family doing small renovations.  In 2009, John graduated with an A.A.S. Fire Science Degree and began pursuing a career as a firefighter.

John and his wife Natalie were married in 2009, at which point John worked for the local Trauma Center, Public Services Communication Center, Mills Fire Department, and a local contractor doing new construction.

In 2013, John was hired by the City of Casper Fire-EMS Department as a firefighter, until retiring in 2022.  Now he works full-time with JNL.

Construction has always been a passion for John, he loves problem solving building issues.  This passion along with the desire to own his own business, led to the opening of JNL Designs in 2016.  The name was thought up after the birth of John and Natalie's 2nd child, Canaan, was born.  It stands for John, Natalie, and Littles, which was primarily opened with the intent of constructing concrete counter tops and furniture, however, it became evident almost immediately that this company was going to specialize in general construction.

John transitioned into a project management position in 2020.  This allows him the time to personally work with our clients throughout the project and ensure our quality is met every time.
